As long as I can
remember, I have always had a passion for the arts. I took trumpet
lessons, beginning in the 5th grade and continuing for the next
8 years, with the goal in mind to develop concert quality talent.
While secure in 1st chair solo trumpet position in band and
orchestra, I expanded my interests into swing and modern dance
band music. |
Simultaneously,
I took serious voice lessons to perfect the tenor voice, which
I exercised in mixed choruses, solo performances, church choirs,
and various glee clubs such as the Vienna Choral Society (Vienna,
Virginia). My trumpet career was abruptly halted while serving
in the US Air Force, with the discovery of multiple cancerous
cells in my upper lip. |
